"WRAPPING" FOR INDUSTRY

“Wrapping” for industry: a new frontier among decoration, art and personalization.

The widely employed technique for the decoration of cars, makes its debut in the world of agricultural mechanization

Wrap advertising  is a new methodology of marketing that consists in the complete wrapping of a vehicle or its body, and generally is applied to cars, buses or subway carriages. The wrapping may be accomplished by simply painting the surface of the vehicle, but the current standard in use today, is to externally apply coating vinyl films, suitable for long-term outdoor applications.
This technique, however, may represent a new frontier in the world of industrial vehicles, and in this specific case, the agricultural mechanization sector, allowing you to customize a machine or a “special” series.
A challenge first set by Mascar, a company based in the Vicenza area specialized in production of advanced equipment for the agricultural sector. 76 Industrial Graphics Evolution accepted and won this challenge thanks to the close collaboration with Optima, a company owned by 76 Industrial Graphics Evolution, active in Reggio Emilia and not only, in the field of commercial art and specialized in particular in the design and production of advertising decorations for vehicles, showcases and special projects, which integrates various printing and decoration techniques.
“In this case – explains Elisa Mammi, sales and marketing manager of 76 Industrial Graphics Evolution– it was thanks to Optima’s know how that we could respond to this particular customer request, which proved to be very popular on the market and can really represent a new frontier for our industry. Wrapping is a technique that is usually used for the decoration of automobiles, and is in practice the application to the entire vehicle of large, complex and elaborate graphics, which completely change its external image.

At the international exhibition EIMA, Mascar presented a high-end round baler with variable chambers, the ‘MONSTER’, in a special version; with large graphics applied through this methodology. Success of the fully customized model was immediate. Immediately after EIMA, a feasibility study started, aimed to extend the decorating project, initially designed for a single machine to a production of 50 round balers. In practice from one piece to the production of a small series.”

But what makes wrapping such an innovative technique applied to this industry? Elisa Mammi answers: “Usually our graphics are pretty simple and straightforward, designed so that the personnel responsible for their application, employed at our customers’ factories, are able to apply them directly on the assembly line, without difficulty and loss of time. In the case of wrapping, and specifically to what we have achieved with Mascar, we are dealing large elaborate graphic, which cover a large part of the lateral sides of the baler, for which the application is very complex, it requires time and great experience and dexterity. From an operational point of view, the casings are brought into Optima’s factory, where, thanks to adequate equipment and the skilled personnel, they are decorated with the wrapping technique. The aesthetic result has a strong impact.”

Mascar Spa Is a company specialized in haymaking and planting equipment with a complete range of balers, bale wrappers, pneumatic and mechanical seeders, which is based in Grumolo delle Abbadesse (VI). The decoration prepared by 76 Industrial Graphics Evolution and Optima combines the symbol of the company with the Italian tricolor, on an attractive anthracite black.
